Meghalaya vows to be among cleanest states

Shillong: To strengthen voluntarism and collective action for Swachh Bharat and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the state urban affairs department launched the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ 2024 campaign here on Tuesday. It pledged to make Meghalaya one of the ‘cleanest’ states in the country.The ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight, on the theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata - Sanskaar Swachhata’ will continue till October 2. Deputy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar, who is also in charge of urban affairs, stressed on the responsibility of each citizen in ensuring a clean environment and highlighted that the Swachh Bharat Mission, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, is a crucial programme that requires public participation to succeed.

Swachh Bharat, Swachh Betiyan: Hygiene campaign launched in Raipur to break menstrual taboos

The Times of India, in partnership with Raipur District Administration and other local bodies, initiated the Swachh Bharat, Swachh Betiyan campaign at J.R. Dani Government Girls Higher Secondary School. The campaign promotes personal and menstrual hygiene awareness among students who pledged to maintain cleanliness and spread the message within their communities. A dental check-up camp was also conducted.

High ranking cities in Swachhata ranking to now compete in new category Golden Cities Club

Indore, along with other top-ranking cities like Surat and Navi Mumbai, will now compete in a newly formed Golden Cities Club for cleanliness rankings. This move aims to encourage lower-ranked cities to improve their sanitation standards. The government also announced plans to transform two lakh challenging spots under the Swachh Bharat Mission's 10th anniversary activities.

10th edition of Seva Setu launched

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the tenth edition of 'Seva Setu' in Gandhinagar. The special drive, running until October 31, includes various programmes across districts to aid beneficiaries of government schemes. Each taluka will have three events, while municipal corporations and municipalities will hold two each for on-the-spot assistance.
