Shillong: The Meghalaya pavilion attracted significant interest from leading food processing investors at World Food India 2024, which concluded on Sunday at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. “The Meghalaya pavilion witnessed fruitful meetings with renowned companies, exploring potential collaborations. These interactions underscored the interest in Meghalaya’s food processing sector and the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships,” an official statement said. He said representatives from various states and countries visited the Meghalaya pavilion, recognising the state’s growth potential in the food sector business.“Union minister of food processing industries, Chirag Paswan, and secretary of Union ministry of cooperation, Ashish Kumar Bhutani, who visited the Meghalaya pavilion, appreciated the Meghalaya Collectives initiative in particular,” the statement said.Reena Nongrum, founder of state-based Mewan Food Processing, said, “We must work together to stand on our own feet. Meghalaya is rich in natural resources, with an abundance of fruits, turmeric, and much more. By making use of these resources, our farmers will never face setbacks”.
