Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, Ramesh Sinha, stressed the importance of legislative enforcement, inclusive education, healthcare enhancements, and societal awareness to ensure equality for children with disabilities. The 9th State Level Consultation on Child Protection highlighted the need for social safeguards and awareness on the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, urging for collaborative stakeholder efforts.
Google tightens restrictions in Russia, disables these accounts
Google announced that it would deactivate AdSense services for Russian users starting August 2024. Russian YouTubers, bloggers, and publishers were notified that their accounts would be deactivated, ending their platforms' use for advertising. The company will make remaining payments by August 26, attributing the decision to recent developments in Russia.
For less than 40% disability, govt plans white UDID card
The ministry of social justice and empowerment proposed amending the RPwD Act, 2016, to introduce white UDID cards for disabilities under 40%. This change follows a case of fraudulent disability certificates by an IAS officer. The draft includes a revamped color-coded system and extends the certificate issuance timeframe to three months for thorough assessments.
