Heavy rain to continue in Meghalaya
Shillong: Even as high speed wind accompanied by rain continued to affect life across Meghalaya since Thursday, the met office has predicted that inclement weather will continue for some more days.
Owing to the weather condition, the tourism sector too taken a hit. Meanwhile, the weather condition improved significantly on Friday evening, allowing people to go out for marketing and other essential work.

September has seen the highest number of dengue and chikungunya cases this year, with a significant increase in the past two weeks. The Aedes mosquito breeding in stagnant water sources and self-medication with antibiotics for viral infections are contributing factors. The rise in viral diseases can be attributed to economic factors, immuno-suppressive conditions, and improved diagnostic techniques.
'Rain to continue in parts of state'
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall in the southern and eastern regions of Bihar. Overcast conditions persisted in Patna on Tuesday as the monsoon remained active throughout the state. Heavy rainfall was recorded in Rohtas district, while light to moderate rainfall occurred in most places in the southern and northeastern parts of the state. The Patna Meteorological Centre has forecasted heavy rainfall in several districts of Bihar in the next 24 hours, along with thunderstorms and lightning in most districts. The southwest monsoon is expected to withdraw from some parts of India in the next few days.
