Gambegre bypoll: Conrad campaigns for wife Mehtab

Shillong: Ruling National People’s Party (NPP) president and chief minister Conrad K Sangma has been campaigning extensively in support of his party candidate and wife Mehtab Chandee A Sangma, a practising physician, for the Gambegre assembly byelection in the West Garo Hills district, scheduled to be held on Nov 13.
The bypoll was necessitated following resignation of sitting MLA Saleng Sangma of Congress, who won the Tura Lok Sabha seat earlier this year.
“Campaigned for our party candidate Dr (Mrs) Mehtab Chandee A Sangma with leaders from Khasi and Jaintia hills at Darechikgre and Darakgre. Their voices are heard and their concerns are noted. Gambegre constituency will go very far with the NPP. Let’s begin a new chapter together,” the CM recently said in a social media post
Urging the electorate to vote for the ruling party, Conrad, in an election campaign said, “It is so important to be part of a ruling party. This is an opportunity for Gambegre. Let us come together to vote for NPP. Our collective strength will further the progress and development of A’chik Asong”.
