Conrad opens Williamnagar college hostel

Shillong: Chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday inaugurated the academic block, a hostel for both boys and girls, a mini outdoor stadium and an entrepreneurship cell at Williamnagar Government College in East Garo Hills. The initiative was part of the Entrepreneurship Promotion Development Program.
Speaking at the event, the chief minister said while the college was provincialised in 2008, no investment had been made to improve the college since then. “To improve the quality of education, the infrastructure also needs to be improved,” he said.
Conrad added that over Rs 500 crore had been spent since 2018 to improve and upgrade the educational infrastructure across the state.
