Shillong: CM Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday distributed cheques of Rs 50,000 each to self-help groups from different districts of the state at a programme under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, reports Manosh Das.
Addressing the gathering, Sangma said water is an important resource for any nation and accessibility to safe and potable water is a challenge for many nations.
“All research and studies are indicating a major water crisis,” he added. He said Meghalaya is blessed with enough water resources but the issue is with the management of water.
