BSF steps up vigil, ‘determined’ to stop infiltration in Meghalaya
Expressing his determination to stop infiltration, he provided a clear direction and valuable tips and asked the BSF personnel to remain “extra vigilant” and emphasised that security along the border has been bolstered to prevent any infiltration or illegal entry.
“He also appreciated the efforts being made by the field commanders and border men to curb attempts at infiltration and other trans-border crimes despite working in adverse climatic conditions and the tough terrain of the state. He stated that the BSF remains committed to maintaining the integrity and security of the nation’s borders,” a statement issued by the Meghalaya Frontier HQ of the BSF here said on Sunday.
The BSF said the ADG went to the East Khasi hills bordering areas to assess the operational and technical issues and stressed upon the fact that the BSF was manning the India-Bangladesh border in a “very professional and dynamic manner” despite of its myriad area specific issues.
On Sunday, the ADG chaired a joint meeting with the civil administration and police officers of Garo Hills district.
BSF foils another infiltration attempt in Jammu, one Pakistan intruder shot dead
The Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an infiltration attempt and neutralised a Pakistani intruder in the Samba border area. The intruder, who ignored BSF warnings, was spotted near the Khora post and subsequently fired upon. Senior BSF and police officials are on-site, working to retrieve the body. The incident was reported by PTI.
BSF personnel kill suspected Pak terrorist at Jammu border
BSF personnel shot and killed a suspected Pakistani terrorist trying to cross the border in Jammu's Samba sector. Following terrorist attacks in the region, security has been tightened. In a related incident, a terrorist hideout with weapons and supplies was uncovered in Rajouri's mountainside forests during a manhunt for militants involved in recent killings.
BSF Constable from Tamil Nadu died on duty in Fazilka
A BSF Constable, Mugandha Madhavan, died during duty along the Indo-Pak border in Fazilka. After eating, he felt dizzy and collapsed. He was declared dead at Fazilka government hospital. Officials suspect a heart attack, but the exact cause will be determined post-mortem. His family has been informed and is en route to Fazilka.
