Three infiltrators nabbed in Meghalaya

Shillong: The BSF on Monday apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals, who were attempting to enter India, in West Jaintia Hills district, reports Manosh Das. Three Indian accomplices of the illegal migrants were also arrested, the BSF said on Tuesday. “In a well-planned operation on 19th August, 2024, the vigilant troops of BSF Meghalaya successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the international border in West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya,” a statement issued by the BSF said on Tuesday.

BSF recovers heroin near Indo-Pak border in Ferozepur

The Border Security Force recovered a packet of heroin, likely dropped by a drone, near a border village in Ferozepur. Following intelligence input, BSF troops conducted a search operation in village Machhiwara. They found 500 grams of heroin in a plastic container wrapped in adhesive tape, thwarting another smuggling attempt. Investigations are ongoing.

BSF neutralizes China-made drone carrying Heroin at Ferozepur border

The BSF thwarted a drug smuggling attempt by neutralizing a drone in Ferozepur's border village. Late Tuesday night, BSF personnel detected drone activity and initiated technical countermeasures. A search led to the recovery of a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone carrying 538 grams of heroin. The swift reaction ensured the seizure of the narcotics-laden drone.
