2 women held with B’deshi currency

Shillong: The troops of the BSF’s 193 Battalion, Meghalaya Frontier, on Monday apprehended two Indian women with Bangladeshi currency to the tune of 90,000 taka (Rs 69,000 approx), while they were entering the Indian territory illegally from the neighbouring country, a BSF spokesperson said.
“The apprehended women have identified themselves as Primala Hajong and Rimi Bhadra, residents of Betgora in Danger of East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya. During questioning, they revealed that they had entered Bangladesh through a porous and unfenced border and received Bangladeshi taka from a prominent Bangladeshi smuggler, Hamid,” the BSF spokesperson said.
