Youth hurls petrol bomb at police station in Salem, held

SALEM: A 20-year-old youth was arrested on Tuesday, for hurling petrol bomb at Edappadi police station in Salem. Superintendent of police Arun Kabilan said the youth, P Aadhitya of Edappadi, told police that he hurled the bomb to become famous through media. Aadhitya dropped out of school and was working as a truck cleaner.

Police said his father Prabhu, also a truck cleaner, was a history-sheeter. Police said the youth hurled the bomb at the station around 4.10am. They nabbed him with the help of CCTV camera footage. He was lodged at the Salem central prison in judicial custody. TNN
