Woman kills two sons, hangs self

Namakkal: A woman killed her two children by throwing them into a well and later committed suicide by hanging herself at Mohanur here on Monday night. The deceased have been identified as G Gunavathi, 27, and her sons G Pranav Priyan, 5, and G Sujith Priyan, 1, of Kakka Thoppu area. Gunavathi, who was married to Gopi, was living with her father B Kesavan, 70, for the past few months following a family feud. Around 10.30pm on Monday, Kesavan chided Gunavathi for hitting the children when they refused to eat their food. Upset, she left the house with her children. She later threw her children into a well near a Murugan temple and committed suicide by hanging herself inside the motor pump room. When Kesavan came to know about this, he attempted to end life by consuming sleeping pills, police said. tnn
