The hospital was inaugurated in the presence of the chairman Amar Agarwal, CEO Dr. Adil Agarwal, regional medical director Dr. Kaladevi, Salem hospital head (clinical services) Dr. Karpagavalli.


In his address, Palaniswami said, inaugurating a world-class super specialty eye care hospital in his own district gave him immense pleasure. “Dr Agarwal’s eye hospitals is Tamil Nadu’s pride,” he said, adding that, a small eye care clinic in 1957 has now grown to become one of the largest eye hospital chains in India.

Chairman Amar Agarwal said, the inauguration of the new facility in Salem is a special moment as it marks the 63rd anniversary of the hospital, founded by late Dr. Jaiveer Agarwal, a recipient of Padma Bhushan, with the vision to provide affordable and quality eye care facilities.

“Our plan is to increase the number of our hospitals from 90 plus to 150 by 2022-23,” he said. The next phase of expansion, and addition of 60 hospitals will focus not only on India but also across other countries.
