SSI suspended for disrespecting national anthem

Namakkal: A special sub-inspector (SSI) attached to the armed reserve in Namakkal district was placed under suspension on Tuesday for disrespecting the national anthem. He was sitting on a chair and was talking over a phone when the national anthem was playing. SSI Sivaprakasam was on the bandobast duty for youth welfare and sports development minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s event at Bommaikuttaimedu in here on January 28. Video of Sivaprakasam disrespecting the national anthem when it was played at the end of event was uploaded on social media and went viral. Superintendent of police C Kalaichelvan issued the suspension order on Tuesday, after an inquriy. tnn
