Salem railway division bags overall efficiency award

SALEM: The

Salem railway division

was conferred on the Southern Railway general manager’s inter-divisional overall efficiency shield at the 64th railway week celebrations conducted at Rajah Annamalai Mandram in Chennai on Friday evening.


Divisional railway manager U Subba Rao received the efficiency shield along with senior divisional commercial manager A Vijuvin, senior divisional electrical engineer Aravindan and divisional personnel officer Tirumurugan.

Palakkad and Chennai divisions jointly bagged the runners-up shield.

A total of 155 officers and staff were honoured with individual awards at the event. Southern Railway general manager Rahul Jain, who was the chief guest, distributed the awards.

The highlight of the event was cultural programmes by the staff and their wards.
