MDMK functionaries on hunger strike

SALEM: Ten MDMK functionaries went on an indefinite hunger strike in the city on Tuesday, urging President Droupadi Murmu to give her assent for the Tamil government's bill exempting the state from NEET.

MDMK's political advisory committee member A Anandaraj was among the functionaries participating in the strike.

"I will continue my hunger strike till my demands are met," Anandaraj said. "Other functionaries from our party and allies may join in the protest from Wednesday," he added.
