Gold jewellery looted from house
Namakkal: Unidentified burglars entered the house of K Manikandan, 45, a power loom unit owner at Kumarapalayam in the town in the early hours of Tuesday and made away with 120 sovereigns of gold jewellery worth 52 lakh and 3 lakh in cash. Manikandan and his wife Divya, 39, who reside at Teacher’s Colony in the town, were at Uppupalayam when the robbery took place. On Tuesday morning, their two children who were staying with their neighbours found the front door of their house broken open, and clothes scattered on the floor. Kumarapalayam police have formed a special team to nab the accused. A case has been registered, and further inquiry is on. TNN
