KRISHNAGIRI: Former Krishnagiri municipal chairwoman Farida Nawab and her husband and former DMK urban secretary in Krishnagiri, S K Nawab, joined AIADMK in the presence of party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami in Chennai on Monday.
"More than 50 DMK members, including Nawab and Farida Nawab joined AIADMK," said party deputy general secretary and Veppanahalli MLA K P Munusamy.
Farida lost the municipal chairwoman post after a no-confidence motion was passed against her in the Krishnagiri municipal council recently by DMK councillors. Nawab was removed from the post of the DMK urban secretary last year following an internal party issue.
