Salem: A Mohan, a staunch communist and CPI candidate for Veerapandi constituency in Salem district did not think twice before naming his three sons Communism, Leninism and Socialism.
"If I had daughters, I would have named them the same," he said.
Mohan, belonging to the Vanniyar caste, hails from a communist family. His forefathers have been associated with the party for decades.
Mohan's first son Communism is 24 years and has been practicing as an Advocate for the past one year. Both Leninism and Socialism have completed their B Com (Computer Application) and they run a silver anklet manufacturing unit near their village.
Talking to TOI about their unusual names, Communism said that he has not faced any trouble or felt ashamed because of his name. "People sometimes raise their eyebrows when they hear my name but I'm used to it," he said. But on the brighter side, he says he has made many friends only because of his name. He now practices as an advocate, working under a senior advocate who gave him a job only because of his name.
