4 railway staff members suspended

Salem: The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Salem railway division, Hari Shankar Verma, issued suspension orders to four railway staff in connection with the derailment of the Chennai-Palani train on Thursday.

The staff have been identified as duty station master of Dasampatti railway station, Umesh Prasad, on duty sweeper cum porter Senthil Kumar, station master Nitish Kumar Misra and traffic inspector Sanjay Prasad.

"We have issued suspension orders and also ordered for departmental inquiry," the DRM said.
