RANCHI: 'Xavier Utsav-2014' kicked off on Tuesday.
Hundreds of students gathered at the college auditorium to participate in cultural and other events.
Rangmanch was also held for various categories like rock band competitions, street dance, folk dance, solo dance, mono act, mimicry and singing.
"We were happy to see so many teams participating in various competitions.

The programmes provide a platform for students to showcase there talents," said Kamal Bose, a professor at St Xavier's College in Ranchi.
"Xavier Utsav, the annual fest is getting bigger and better every year, we are organizing Xavier's fest since 20 years", Bose further said.
More than 45 events were organized in Xavier Utsav - 2014. The chief guest of Xavier Utsav 2014 was R K Mallick, IG Palamu district and the guest of honour was registrar of Ranchi University Dr. Amar Chaudhary.
Extempore, debate, poetry writing and quiz competitions were held on Friday while rangoli, flower show, collage-making and face painting contest were held on Saturday.

One act play, mimicry, mimes, mono act play including Nukkad Natak was centre of attraction besides cultural programs which enthralled the students.
Shruti Sagar, a third year student said, "We are very excited about the Xavier fest, every year we participate in the events, this year too we participated in face painting and collage making competition".
"This is a platform where we interact with people and get a chance to show our hidden talent. "Such events build confidence and enhances our cultural skills", said another student Saurabh Singh.
Other than the technical events and workshops, there were also a number of spot events that were conducted. The spot events included a number of interesting games like debate competition, T-shirt painting, Elocution, treasure hunt, group discussion and general quiz were carried out in the session.
A chaos took place in the college premises during the fest as a rumor about bomb inside campus spread. Police and bomb squad team was called in the college campus but the zeal and enthusiasm of students continued. The program was conducted smoothly as was scheduled.
"The talks about bomb in the campus was a rumour and fest will continue", said Fr. Nicholas Tete, Principal of the collage.
