Will support maximum party cadres for civic polls: BJP

Ranchi: State BJP president Aditya Sahu on Saturday chaired the party’s core committee meeting ahead of Sunday’s Union budget and impending civic body polls. The meeting was attended by former chief ministers Arjun Munda and Madhu Koda, leader of opposition Babulal Marandi, Union ministers Annapurna Devi and Sanjay Seth among others.

Speaking to media after the meeting, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Verma said, “Various issues were discussed in today’s meeting, but the focus was on civic body polls as well as the Union budget. For civic body polls, even though they aren’t directly on party lines, but we have decided to support maximum of our candidates who will be contesting.”


Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash on the other hand hoped that Sunday’s Union budget will be inclusive. “Under the Modi govt, the people of this country have turned optimistic and lives have improved across the spectrum. Tomorrow's budget will also be aimed towards Vikasit Bharat,” he said.
