Wedding Joy Turns to Tragedy: Speeding Four-Wheeler Claims Life in Chatra
Chatra: One person was killed and nine others from Sirmatpur village sustained injuries after a four-wheeler returning from a wedding ceremony in Pratappur block rammed into a roadside tree on the Itkhori–Pitij Road in the Bhurkunda forest area of Chatra district on Sunday around 4 am, police said.The deceased was identified as Manoj Ram (40), police added.

Officer in-charge of the Itkhori police station, Abhishek Kumar Singh, said, “The body was sent to the Chatra sadar hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered. Preliminary investigation suggests that high speed and driver fatigue may have caused the accident. The front portion of the car was completely mangled.”The four seriously injured — Madesh Kumar, Abhay Ram, Rahul Kumar, and Aryan Kumar — were taken to the Chatra sadar hospital, which referred them to higher medical centres, including those located in Hazaribag, after giving them primary treatment, police added.Five passengers, who suffered minor injuries, were treated at the Itkhori community health centre and discharged.
