Vijayalakshmi tops state in NEET
Ranchi: A student of the Jawahar Vidya Mandir Shyamli, Vijayalakshmi, has topped the state in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the school on Tuesday. She scored 700 out of 720 to get an All India Ranking (
The school further said Vijayalakshmi had also scored AIR 1,959 in the JEE (Advanced). A total of 12 students from the school qualified for NEET, the institute’s management said, adding that among its successful students were Abhishek (AIR 7,163) and Siba Prasad Tiwari (AIR 9,217).
The school principal, Samarjit Jana, praised the students for performing well despite the Covid pandemic.
Meanwhile, Delhi Public School, Ranchi, said over 30 of its students cracked the NEET examination and one of its students, Riya Sen, who scored an AIR of 2,091, was the school topper.
As many as nine talented students from the economically weaker section, who were given coaching by the state education department under its Akansha programme, were successful in the examination. The successful students were identified as Jitendra Kumar, Pranav Kumar Ojha, Vishal Mandal, Rahul Kumar, Divya Rani, Sakshi Jaiswal, Manila Singh Kuntia, Rahul Vishwakarma, and Bhagya Rani Mandi.
It may be noted here that Akansha is a state government-sponsored coaching programme under which talented students from the economically weaker section were given coaching for various competitive examinations.
