Jharkhand govt appoints Vandana Dadel as home secretary after Rajiv Ekka’s transfer

RANCHI: The state government on Friday appointed Vandana Dadel as the home secretary during a late evening reshuffle. A notification issued by the state department of personnel, administrative reforms and Rajbhasha said Dadel was given the additional charge of the home department (without disaster management). She already has the additional charge as the industries secretary for close to a year after the arrest of IAS officer Pooja Singhal.

Dadel’s appointment came days after home secretary Rajiv Arun Ekka was transferred to the panchayati raj department after BJP made public a video clip of him showing him dealing in government files at a private office.

Besides Dadel, Ajoy Kumar Singh, who is currently the secretary of the rural affairs department, was given the additional charge of cabinet coordination and vigilance department. Vinay Kumar Choubey, who is currently the secretary of the state urban development (additional charge) and secretary to chief minister Hemant Soren, will also take additional charge of the state information and public relations department.
