Jharkhand: Van falls into ditch on Dumka - Deoghar road, 25 hurt

DUMKA: As many as 25 people sustained injuries after a pick-up van ferrying them to Bihar’s Katihar district from Basukinath temple in Deoghar lost control and fell into a ditch next to the Dumka - Deoghar road near Ghortopi under Jarmundi police station limits on Thursday.

Jarmundi police said all the injured were residents of Katihar and Bihar and were returning home after offering prayers at Basukinath Temple on Thursday afternoon.

"All the injured were taken to Jarmundi community health centre for treatment. While 23 were released after first aid, two were referred to Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital (PJMCH) in Dumka. No casualties were reported,” Jarmundi police station in-charge Daya Nand Sah said.
