Hazaribag: Union minister for women and child development,
Annapurna Devi, chaired the district development coordination and evaluation committee (Disha) meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by MP Manish Jaiswal, MLAs Manoj Yadav, Amit Yadav, Tiwari Mahto, Roshan Lal Choudhury, and Nagendra Mahto, along with Zila Parishad President Umesh Mehta, deputy commissioner Nancy Sahay, and other district officials.
The committee reviewed various central govt schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, and National Rural Drinking Water Supply Scheme, among others.
The Union minister emphasised the crucial role of public representatives and officers in ensuring govt schemes reach beneficiaries effectively. She stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards and transparency in implementation, stating that "compromise with the quality of work is not acceptable".
MP Jaiswal reviewed the tender processes of technical departments and called for transparent implementation. He also demanded an investigation committee to examine complaints regarding the Jal Nal Yojana's boring pipeline quality. The MP highlighted the importance of the Kusum Scheme and directed officials to ensure widespread awareness among farmers.
MLA Pradeep Prasad focused on urban water supply schemes, emphasizing the need for regular monitoring of the Har Ghar Jal Yojana.
During the electricity department review, MLA Amit Kumar Yadav raised concerns about timely honorarium payments to contracted workers. Other MLAs highlighted villages still lacking electricity connection. The Union minister directed immediate action to energise unelectrified areas and ensure uninterrupted power supply to schools and remote areas.
