Unidentified Minor Girl's Body Found at Jamshedpur Govt School; Strangled Death Suspected

Jamshedpur: The body of an unidentified minor girl was recovered from the grounds of a govt school in Jamshedpur early on Saturday, police said.Police said that prima facie, the girl, who is aged around 17 years, may have been strangled to death. Investigators are also probing whether she was sexually assaulted before she was killed.“Until the post-mortem report arrives, it is difficult to ascertain the rape angle,” SP (city) Lalit Meena told the media after inspecting the crime scene.Police said establishing the girl’s identity remains the first priority, after which investigators will try to determine how she reached the school.Sources said the dog squad and the forensic team visited the spot and collected evidence. Further investigation is underway.
