Two PLFI ultras nabbed in Khunti

Ranchi: Two ultras of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) were arrested from a forest area under Saiko police station limits on Sunday, Khunti police said."The arrested were identified as Somlal Mahli and Sadh Munda. A country-made pistol, four cartridges, mobile phones, and pamphlets of the outlawed organisation were seized from their possession," Khunti sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Varun Rajak said. Acting on inputs received by the SP that miscreants had gathered near Karkari river and were planning to carry out subversive activities, a special team led by the SDPO raided the forest are, police said.A case under sections 25 (1-b), 26, 35 of Arms Act, section 61 (2) of the BNS, and section 17 of the CLA has been registered against them.Both are history sheeters. "Mahli and Munda had demanded Rs 4 lakh from a trader in Saiko Bazaar a few days ago. A case was registered against them under sections 308 and 3(5) of Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and section 17 of Criminal Law Amendment Act (CLA) on April 11," SDPO Rajak said.Mahli is a resident of Rugdi village under Saiko police station limits while Munda belongs to Marangburu under Arki police station area, police added.
