Chatra: A speeding truck rammed into a house in Giddhaur block early on Monday damaging a portion of the structure. The vehicle crashed into the residence of former zila parishad member Baleshwar Prasad Kushwaha around 4 am. While no injuries were reported, a section of the house got severely damaged and a two-wheeler parked inside the premises was destroyed.
According to locals, the truck was returning to Tandwa after unloading coal in Katkamsandi of Hazaribag district when the driver allegedly dozed off. It broke through the boundary wall and rammed into the house.
Locals alleged administrative negligence, claiming that coal vehicles in the area are often driven at high speed and, in many cases, by underage drivers. Giddhaur police station officer-in-charge Purushottam Agnihotri said, “Probe is on to know how this accident took place. Driver has been detained.”
