Top officials review preparations for President Droupadi Murmu’s Jamshedpur visit
Jamshedpur: Ahead of the proposed visit of President Droupadi Murmu to the city on Feb 26, the top state officials reviewed the preparations on Friday.The additional director general (CID), Manoj Kaushik, and secretary, rural development department, Manoj Kumar, physically visited the proposed site of Shri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Charitable Centre Trust complex. The President is supposed to take part in the ground-breaking ceremony and lay the foundation of the complex at Marine Drive in Kadma.

During the inspection of the site, the official duo enquired about the seating arrangements for the VVIP guests and the invitees, and about the parking arrangements for the vehicles.The emergency medical facility, electricity supply, drinking water arrangements and fire control measures at the event site, besides the travel route of the President, were particularly enquired about with the district administration officials.The security of the VVIPs came up for discussion, and directions were issued to ensure there was no laxity in providing adequate security to the guests at the programme site.After the visit to Kadma, the officials toured Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) in Sidhgora and reviewed the arrangements.The ADG and the secretary spoke to the college management officials and obtained information about the programme. The arrangements planned for the guests were also enquired about.
Deputy commissioner (DC) Karn Satyarthi, and senior superintendent of police Piyush Pandey briefed the visiting officials about the preparations. The DC told the state officials that elaborate security measures were being put in place to ensure a safe and secure visit of the President.Incidentally, the President is visiting the Steel City for the second time in three months. She had last came here on Dec 29 to take part in a programme organised to mark the 100th year of the Ol Chiki script.
