: Jharkhand’s Nikki Pradhan,

Salima Tete

and

Sangita Kumari

have been named as part of Team India for the upcoming FIH Pro League Hockey tournament scheduled in Belgium and the Netherlands next month.
All three players were also part of the national squad in the past.
While

Sangita

made a debut in the Pro League matches held in Bhubaneshwar in February this year, both Nikki and Salima were part of the national women’s squad in last year’s Tokyo Olympics.
Sangita hails from Karangagudu Navatoli village under the Kersai block of Simdega and was a regular in the national squad (junior women). She was also part of the bronze winning team in U 18 Asia Cup in Bangkok in 2016.
Nikki, who plays in the defending position, is a resident of Hesal village under the Murhu block of Khunti district. She was also the first women Olympian from Jharkhand and took part in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Midfielder Salima, who hails from Badkichhaper village in Simdega district, had led the national team in the 2018 Argentina Youth Olympics where the team clinched silver. She also led India in the recently concluded Junior World games at Potchefstroom in South Africa.
