Chatra: Three extremists belonging to the banned Tritiya Prastuti Sammelan Committee (TPSC) along with one of their aides have been nabbed in Chatra on Sunday on charges of threatening coal traders and transporters while demanding extortion amount, police said on Monday.
The arrested ultras were identified as Santosh Ram, Nandlal Bharti, Shiv Shankar Bharti and Mohammad Noman Badar.
Chatra SP Rakesh Ranjan said they also seized 525 pamphlets, two motorcycles, nine mobile phones, and one laptop from the arrested.
Sources said the rebels had put up posters in various parts of Simaria and Tandwa as well as in neighbouring Hazaribag district, demanding the extortion amount. Recently, they even demanded Rs 1crore from a company, which prompted the SP to form a special investigation team to conduct raid against them.
“Three were held from Simaria on Sunday. Based on their information, one more man was nabbed for printing pamphlets of the TPSC,” SP Ranjan added.
