Three men held in Bokaro for drug peddling

Bokaro: Three men, including two in their early twenties, were arrested for being involved in smuggling and sale of narcotics, the police said on Saturday.

Faiz Akram (25) and Matlub Alam (23), both residents of Makhdumpur, were arrested near Sijua Lake on Friday. Based on their inputs, one Aniruddh Sah (47), was arrested from Bari-Cooperative area.

Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh said the arrests were made by a special team. “Akram and Alam were intercepted when they were on a bike. In total, 1.5 kg marijuana, 10 packets of brown sugar and Rs 850 in cash were seized from them,” Singh said.

“During questioning they admitted that they were looking for buyers in Bari-Cooperative, Makhdumpur, and Siwandih areas. They also disclosed purchasing marijuana from Sah. The police also raided Sah’s residence and seized 10.4 kg of marijuana, a car, and Rs 7,939 cash before he was arrested. Raids are underway to arrest other members of the network,” he added.
