Three members of banned outfit TSPC arrested, 1 surrenders
Daltonganj: Three ultras of the banned naxal outfit Tirtiay Sammelan Prastuti Committe (TSPC) were caught under the Paton police station limits of Chhaterpur, bordering Bihar on Sunday. On Monday, the court of the chief judicial magistrate Daltonganj sent Shambhu alias Birender, 20, Mithilesh (area commander), 25, and Satender, 19, to judicial custody.It was Mithilesh who was caught first on Sunday and his leads later resulted in the arrest of the other two.“A country-made gun, two diaries, naxal literature and a phone have been recovered from the trio,” said assistant superintendent of police and SDPO Rishabh Garg. The three used to make extortion calls using the phone.Garg said, "The three have confessed to having torched a tractor and a bike at the construction site of a small bridge over the river Khuti Sote under the Bishrampur police station limits on June 16."An FIR was lodged by Madan Prajapati of the construction company, MS Chhinmastika Construction Company, against unknown ultras of the TSPC. The three had fired in the air to create terror among workers at the construction site.Though none was injured the workers were locked up in a room at the construction site and cell phones taken away. The ultras threw TSPC leaflets around asking for money. There were a dozen workers there on the night of June 16 when the three arrived at the spot, police said.Meanwhile, TSPC cadre Deepak Rajwar, 52, surrendered before police in Palamu . Appearing before officers Rishabh Garg and Bishrampur SDPO Surjit Kumar, Rajwar surrendered without any weapon. He did not have any reward on his head. He has four cases pending against him three cases registered in Palamu and one in Garhwa, said Garg. Rajwar worked for the outfit for two years, 2017 and 2018. He told media, "I have been lying idle and cut off from TSPC since 2019. I surrendered because I want to live my rest of life peacefully."
