Three held for murder in Gumla

Police arrested three persons, including two neighbours, in connection with the murder of Nilambar Sahu, who was killed by PLFI rebels at Dahudarn village under Palkot police station, late on Wednesday.

GUMLA: Police arrested three persons, including two neighbours, in connection with the murder of NilambarSahu, who was killed by PLFI rebels at Dahudarn village under Palkot police station, late on Wednesday.
"The rounded up persons include the deceased's neighbours, Suchand Sanu and Phulchand Sanu, with whose family they were having problems over the flow of water from a hand pump installed in his house for some days.

The third person has been identified as Sumit Singh, a resident of a neighbouring village," said Birendra Toppo, OC of Palkot police.
Before being shot at, Sahu was beaten up with sticks and even smashed with a boulder by PLFI activists led by Parmeshwar Gop alias Prem.
Gop had abducted and killed a woman member of the district board, Kalawati Devi, last year at the same panchayat and since then he has unleashed a reign of terror in the area.
Meanwhile, Gumla MLA Kamlesh Oraon and other BJP leaders, including the state general secretary, Vinay Lal; district president Vijay Mishra and other offered their condolences to the bereaved family.
BJP leaders have also condemned the killing of Sahu and demanded immediate arrest of the guilty, besides job and compensation for the kin of the deceased.
