'Thank you Pakistan, Lashkar': Jharkhand man praises terror group on social media after Pahalgam attack, held

RANCHI: A 31-year-old man was arrested in Bokaro for allegedly posting controversial remarks supporting terrorist organisations following the recent Pahalgam attack in Jammu & Kashmir. Mohammad Naushad, a resident of Millat Nagar under Balidih police station limits, reportedly shared content including phrases like "Thank You Pakistan" and "Thank You Lashkar-e-Taiba" on social media.

The posts, which quickly went viral, sparked widespread public outrage amid national mourning for the 28 victims—mostly tourists—who lost their lives in the terror attack at Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam.

Balidih police station in-charge Naveen Singh confirmed the arrest, stating, “Action was taken based on the offensive post shared by the accused. Further questioning of Naushad is ongoing to determine his intent and possible links, if any.”

Naushad, who describes himself as an “Islamic Lawyer and Bold Orator” on social media, has allegedly been known to share controversial content online. Police are investigating his digital activities and motivations.

The swift police action came in response to growing public anger over the inflammatory posts that appeared to support terrorist activities during a time of national tragedy.
