Supreme Court greenlights CBI: Supreme Court upholds CBI probe in Sahibganj mining case; BJP slams Hemant Soren for attempting to obstruct investigation

Ranchi: BJP state president and leader of opposition, Babulal Marandi, on Wednesday welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to continue with the CBI investigation into the Sahibganj illegal stone mining case, a statement issued by the BJP said.Attacking the Hemant Soren-led JMM govt, Marandi said that despite the state govt's opposition to the CBI probe into the illegal stone mining case, the Supreme Court has given clear directions to continue with the CBI investigation, the statement said, quoting the BJP leader.He said that the Supreme Court, upholding the CBI probe order given by the high court, dismissed the special leave petition (SLP) filed by the state govt to prevent the CBI investigation.

“CM Hemant Soren made every effort to save his favourites like Pankaj Mishra, Vishnu Yadav, Rajesh Yadav, Bachchu Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, and Subhash Mandal,” Marandi said, adding that pressure was put on the petitioner to withdraw the complaint.
