RANCHI: The state BJP is geared up to welcome party stalwart
Lal Krishna Advani and his rathyatra that is scheduled to enter Jharkhand on October 12.
The state executive committee met here on Tuesday to delegate responsibilities to the party leaders and workers and make elaborate arrangement for his welcome. Convened at a short notice, the meeting was attended by MP P N Singh and five MLAs, including agriculture minister Satyanand Jha Batul, Amit Yadav, Uma Shankar Akela, Kamlesh Oraon and Harekrishna Singh.
Addressing the media after the meeting, state BJP president Dineshanand Goswami said details of Advani's visit would be finalized by the central BJP leaders after a crucial meeting on Thursday. "We are aware of the yatra entering Jharkhand near Chauparan in Hazaribag through National Highway 2 on October 12 afternoon," he said. The Rathyatra leaves Sitab Diyara of Bihar on the same day and enters Jharkhand.
"Advani would address a public meeting in Barhi and Hazaribag on October 12 and stay there for night, next day he will address another public gathering in Ramgarh and then enter Ranchi," Goswami said. Venue for the public meeting and other programmes has not yet been finalized. After addressing a public meet in Ranchi, his yatra will be heading towards Assam on October 13.
The state BJP has constituted a five-member committee to welcome the yatra. State general secretaries Bal Mukund Sahay, Balwant Ojha and Vinay Lal along with vice-presidents Rakesh Prasad and Deepak Prakash have been assigned to welcome the delegation and manage the public gathering at four places wherever the rath is supposed to halt.
