Daltonganj: A two-month-old spotted fawn was released into the protected forest of Nawa under the Medininagar forest division, Palamu, late Saturday after being rescued from a village, where it had strayed in search of water.
Rakesh Pandey, a forest personnel, said the fawn strayed into human habitation from Nawa jungle in search of water.
A resident of Nawa, Gyani Yadav, saved the fawn and kept it in his house till forest personnel reached.
The fawn was taken back by the forest personnel and released into the protected forest
