Ranchi: Chief minister Hemant Soren on Saturday resorted to “public shaming” of the Centre for defaulting on payment of over Rs.1.36 lakh crore payable to Jharkhand by central PSUs for mining coal in the state.
Tweeting his letter written to Union coal minister Prahlad Joshi,

Soren

said despite repeated consultations with the coal ministry and the Niti Aayog over non-payment of longstanding and legitimate dues of Rs. 1.36 lakh crores related to mining by central PSUs, the Centre has paid no heed so far. Soren has been raising the issue on various platforms and often criticised the Union government for ignoring the demands which have often been ratified by competent courts.
