Sainik School Tilaiya celebrated the culmination of its Golden Jubilee with great gusto and fervor. Honorable chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren, minister of Child and Women welfare and water resources development who is also currently the MLA from Koderma district, Annapurna Devi and minister of HRD Gitashri Oraon were present on this occasion.

On this occasion the CM released the School magazine "The Tilaiyan" and said he wanted to make Jharkhand the education hub of the country.
Hon'ble Minister Annapurna Devi pledged all support to the School while Hon'ble Minister Gitashri Oraon said the Sainik School has emerged as a role model for all other Schools. Cadets of the School mesmerized everyone with their band display, ceremonial parade and equestrian skills. The CM and the Guests of Honour gave away prizes and awards to the cadets and staff who had excelled in various fields. Principal of Sainik School Tilaiya, Colonel VK Bhatt gave the vote of thanks. He also said Sainik School Tilaiya had been awarded with the "Defence Minister Trophy" for sending maximum number of cadets to NDA.
Kuchai Silk Expo ends: The four day Kuchai Silk Expo organised by Jharkdraft at Hotel Radisson Blu from September 12 came to an end on September 16. The exhibition witnessed a huge footfall in four days and a saw a sale of more than Rs. 1.5 crores. Managing director of Jharcraft, Dhirendra Kumar awarded participation certificate to all the exhibitors from across the country who had their stalls at the expo. Kumar said, "This expo was organised to promote Kuchai silk of Jharkhand and also provide the best silk products from across the country to the residents of Ranchi. Our next expo will be organised at Delhi from September 27."
Three-day Archery championship kicks off: The three-day Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) National Archery Championship kicked off in Lohardaga JNV ground here amidst fanfare on Monday. Among eight regions of NVS schools participating in the contest Patna and Lucknow regions bagged team championship in their respective categories in Indian Round. While Patna became champion in girls' group in under- 14 its nearest contenders Shilong and Hyderabad stood second and third respectively.
In boys' group in under-14 Lucknow became the team champion.
11 get life term in murder case: A local court on Monday sentenced 11 persons to life imprisonment for murdering a man nearly 17 years ago following a land dispute. Giridih district judge (II) Arun Kumar Singh convicted 29 people in the case and awarded life imprisonment to 11 while, 10 years prison terms to the rest of the accused. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of those awarded life imprisonment and Rs 10,000 on the other convicts.

In the individual medal list in 30 mtr U-14 boys' category Raju Kumar and Vikas Chaudhury of Lucknow stood first and second while Ganesh P of Hyderabad got third position. In 20 mtr Vikas Chaudhury and Raju Kumar of Lucknow bagged first and second prizes while Anmol Kant of Patna got third prize.
In overall distance Raju Kumar and Vikash Chaudhury of Lucknow stood first and second prize while Anmol Khant of Patna bagged third position. In 30 mtr U-14 girls' category Ruby Nur Tirkey and Aarti Nayak of Patna bagged first and second positions while Leema Nagambam of Shillong got third position. In 20 mtr Ruby Nur Tirkey and Aarti Nayak of Patna bagged first and second prizes while Leema Nagamban got third prize.
In overall distance same girls bagged the same positions. Events for the rest two age categories in both the groups continued sans final results in them while some events were to be held on second and third days of the championship.
