Chatra: A human skeleton was found in the forest of Karma under the Mayurhund police station limits on Thursday. While the skull was found a few metres away, the other parts were lying near a trouser and gamchcha. Sources said villagers spotted the skull and informed the police.
The officer-in-charge of the Mayurhund police station, Sanjay Kumar Singh, said the skeleton has been sent to the Chatra sadar hospital for forensic tests.

He said, “The skeleton is old. No one has lodged any complaint lodged in the police station, so far. We are probing the case and have sent the skeleton for forensic tests.” TNN

1 dies, culvert caves in as rain pounds Chatra
Heavy rain in Chatra district has caused a culvert to be washed away, affecting the livelihoods of dozens of villages. In addition, a 55-year-old man drowned in a rain-fed river while taking a bath. The culvert provided access to the Itkhori block headquarters, resulting in a detour of 30 km instead of 10 km. The district officials have assured support to the man's family. The rain also damaged kutcha houses in different blocks of the district.
