Siblings held in JSR for peddling drugs

Jamshedpur: Seraikela-Kharsawan police arrested two persons on charges of drug peddling. SP Anand Prakash said the accused, Imdad Khan alias Babu (36), and his elder sister Asma Parveen (40), were held from Golmuri and Dhatkidih areas, respectively on Tuesday.Imdad is also an accused in murder and arms act cases and was hiding at a rented house in Golmuri. He is a resident of Muslim basti in Adityapur police station limits. Asma was living in Dhatkidih in Bistupur police station area. “Both sell brown sugar in connivance with a person called Mogla, a resident of Murshidabad in West Bengal. The accused have confessed to their crime. Mogla is on the run but he will be nabbed soon,” the SP said.The police have seized 621 packets containing 21.08 gram brown sugar, four pouches containing 41.04 gram brown sugar, besides Rs 2.60 lakh from Imdad’s house. The SP said the seized narcotic is valued at Rs 4 lakh. “The accused have been forwarded to jail,” the SP said.
