Shravani mela arrangements under lens

Dumka: Jarmundi Congress MLA Badal Patralekh has expressed concerns over poor sanitation and inadequate power supply at Basukinath, which is currently hosting the month-long shravani mela.

Patralekh has apprised the state urban development minister and santhal pargana commissioner about the situation, demanding immediate intervention to improve the basic amenities for the benefit of pilgrims who arrive here during the holy month of shravan.

"The Basukinath nagar panchayat and electricity board have not done enough to ensure proper arrangements for pilgrims during the mela period. These issues were taken up with Babadham and Basukinath Dham shrine boards," said Patralekh. Badal said his allegations were not "politically motivated".
