Seven of family arrested for attacking policemen

DALTONGANJ: Seven members of a family were arrested for attacking and injuring six police personnel, including the officer-in-charge of the Barwadeeh police station, Srinivas Singh, when the police team went to remove encroachers from a government 'gairmajarua' land at Ledgai on Thursday.

The injured personnel were treated at the Barwadeeh community health centre where the doctor, Anupama Ekka, said, "One of the cops had a forehead bleeding. Another had his lips cut. Two had bone fractures. One had injury marks from stones pelted at them while two others suffering fractures were referred to MMCH."

Those arrested are identified as Tulsi Yadav, Satish Yadav, 30, Mukesh Yadav, 28, Manish Yadav, 26, Nitish Yadav, 20, Kamal Yadav, 18 and Madhu Devi, wife of Mukesh Yadav and they are booked under several non-bailable sections of the IPC.
