RANCHI: Many city colleges have started issuing notices on forms for admission to the intermediate after Jharkhand Academic Council announced matriculation results on April 29.
St Xavier's College, for example, has already updated its website and students can even apply online. Each form for admission in science, commerce or arts section is available for Rs 500 at on-campus counters or from the college's website .
"Tentative date for entrance exam to the three sections is June 5 but if CBSE results are not announced by that time, we will extend the date. Last date of submitting the forms is May 26," said Kamal Bose, professor of Hindi at St Xavier's. The college has 640 seats in each of the sections.
Forms for admission in Ranchi Women's College will be available till May 31 between 9 am and 3 pm and submission process will be from June 5 to June 7 between 9 am and 2 pm. "We will release the merit list on June 16 and selected students can take admission from June 17 to June 20. Classes will start from July 7," principal Manju Sinha said.
Colleges, which will shortlist students on the basis of marks obtained in matriculation, are yet to announce cut-off marks for admission.
Kumar N N Shahdeo, intermediate in-charge at Marwari College, said cut-off marks will be announced after authorities vet all admission forms, which will be available till May 24 for Rs 300 each.
"Forms can be submitted between May 5 and May 24. Merit list will be released on May 28 and selected students can take admission from May 29 to June 7," said Shahdeo.
Students with more than 60% marks can get direct admission in St Paul's College. Forma are available online and from counters on the college campus.
