Pooja Kumari, accompanied by her husband Virendra Kumar, was on board the Ranchi-Islampur Express when she experienced labour pains. Virendra then approached sub-inspector Meena Kumari, who was on duty on the train. As soon as the train entered the Bokaro station, Meena alerted RPF Bokaro in-charge Rajkumar Sao about the situation.

Condition of both mother, child stable
Sao said, "RPF constables Meena Kumari, Manisha Kumari and Pinky Dumolia, who were on duty at the RPF booth at the platform, rushed for help. They brought Pooja to RPF booth and made it a makeshift delivery room. They prepared the area, ensuring the utmost cleanliness and comfort for the woman."

With the RPF personnel's support, Pooja delivered her child safely before the arrival of the railway doctor. Both the mother and the baby were then transferred to Bokaro sadar hospital, where they are reported to be in a stable condition. Pooja, hailing from Pavapuri in Nalanda, Bihar, had boarded the train in Ranchi, en route to Patna. "The commendable efforts of SI Meena Kumari and other constables have earned them recommendation for a reward," said Sao. Passengers at the station also congratulated the RPF team for their assistance.
