Patna, April 4 (IANS) Three young men were killed and three others seriously injured in a high-speed collision between a car and a motorcycle on the Deoghar-Sultanganj main road in Bihar’s Banka district early Saturday morning, police said.
Chatra: An 18-year-old boy was killed, and his sister sustained injuries when their motorbike was hit by a speeding truck late on Friday. The deceased Chandan Kumar Rana, a resident of Padampur village in Tandwa block, was travelling to the with his sister Neha to get the latter’s wedding cards printed. Neha is due to get married on May 1.Chandan was the sole breadwinner of the family as his father died a few years ago in Odisha.Angry locals on Saturday blocked the road and sought Rs 50 lakh in compensation for the deceased’s family. The roadblock was removed in the evening after district officials facilitated compensation under a prior agreement with the construction company involved in the railway work in which the truck was engaged. Circle officer of Simaria block, Gaurav Kumar Rai, said victim’s family was provided Rs 10 lakh, while Rs 2 lakh was given for Neha’s treatment. “The body of Chandan was handed over to relatives after postmortem at Chatra Sadar hospital,” Rai said.
