RANCHI: Professor and head of critical care of state-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) Dr Pradip Bhattacharya, who has been at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19, was appointed as the president of

Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine

(ISCCM) for the year, 2023 -24.

Dr Bhattacharya

will become the only physician from eastern India to hold this position in 28 years. The society is one of the largest critical care societies in the world with over 15,000 experts as its members.

Dr Bhattacharya said, “I have held several positions in this society but national president is a very big honour. I express my gratitude towards all those who have exuded confidence in me.”
